Autumn Equinox: Return to Balance with Sound Healing

The Autumn Equinox marks the start of autumn: a moment when day and night are nearly equal in length. It's a time of quiet transition and reflection, as nature begins to turn inward.

In the third part of our series marking the change in seasons, we welcome Yoga & Sound Bath Guide Tiffany Leonardo, who invites us to slow down, recenter, and realign with the rhythms of the season. Through sound healing and intentional breathwork, Tiffany guides a calming practice to support presence and balance as we move into fall.

Born on the Summer Solstice, Tiffany has always felt the significance of seasonal shifts. "They feel like Mama Nature’s gentle reminder to switch gears and honor the rhythm of the current season," she says.

Why the Autumn Equinox Matters

"During this time of year, Nature reminds us that moving at the pace of Summer all year round isn’t sustainable," Tiffany shares. "We balance things out by getting back into routines and creating structure in our lives."

But she’s quick to point out that balance doesn’t mean perfection. "It’s not about achieving perfect balance, but about dancing with harmony. For me, that means filling my cup with eating colorfully, taking classes, and reflecting on what I’ve harvested so far in life."

The Autumn Equinox is also an ideal time to let go. As the trees shed their leaves, we can release what no longer serves. "I take note of the growth I’ve had, what’s worked well, and what weeds need to go. This reflection helps me step into the last part of the year with more intention."

The Role of Sound in Seasonal Reset

Tiffany turns to sound healing as a powerful support during times of transition. Her go-to instrument in autumn? The gong. "It connects me deeply to the Earth element. Its grounding vibrations help us get out of our heads and into our bodies, supporting presence and clarity."

Autumn Equinox Sound Bath

Join Tiffany for a restorative sound bath designed to support your transition into autumn. The class begins with gentle guidance to help you settle in, followed by sound vibrations designed to ground and center.

For an added layer of calm, try pairing the sound bath with circular breathing: inhale through the nose, exhale through the mouth, then sip in air through the mouth and exhale through the nose. This technique helps clear mental clutter and gently brings you back into your body.

Tip: Use headphones or a Bluetooth speaker to enhance the effect of binaural beats.

Autumn Equinox Playlist

To further support your seasonal transition, Tiffany has curated a special playlist featuring grounding tracks perfect for journaling, stretching, or simply being. Let it play in the background as you move through your own rituals.

Want to go deeper? Tiffany also hosts monthly New Moon workshops and weekly Astro Yoga + Sound Bath classes at Sueños Social Club.

Connect

As a Latina yoga and sound practitioner based in Los Angeles, Tiffany weaves astrology, restorative movement, and sound meditation into practices designed to reconnect students with their intuition. Her classes are as much about community as they are about presence.
