Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful and functional! This mat is not only beautiful, it also offers the best grip during a hot yoga class of any mat I have used in my 19+ years of yoga practice—hands down! Easy to wash in the washer and dries relatively quickly. I can’t speak to long term quality, since I’ve only had it about a month, but I’m so happy with this purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for Hot Yoga I was gifted this mat and I need to say that it's been spectacular so far. I use a PRO mat regularly but this mat is better for the following reasons: 1. Lighter, easier to roll and carry 2. Great grip when you sweat 3. Looks great - everybody compliments my mat at my studio 4. Easy to clean - I hang it on my balcony to dry most days and when I want to wash it I just put it in the washing machine (by itself) or I lightly hand wash it in my bathtub. This is a hot yoga specific mat. I wouldn't recommend you use this for a standard flow class. And so far I think this is the best Manduka mat for hot, sweaty yoga while the other mats I've tried are great when I'm practicing outdoors or at a non-heated studio.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this mat As a pro/yogitoes loyalist, I was hesitant to try anything new. I am so glad I gave this mat a try! No more messing with my towel mid-practice, I can flow without worries. While I will stick to my pro for slower flow classes due to the extra cushion, I love having this mat to rotate in my super hot classes! And the design is gorgeous and stays that way after washing in washing machine. Very happy with this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great when sweating! I mostly take hot yoga and I love using this mat because it gets grippy as soon as I start to sweat. It is less grippy when totally dry. It is also really lightweight and easy to carry around. I get so many complements on the design!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great sweaty grip! Absolutely love this mat. I sweat a ton and use the mat both in vinyasa and hot yoga. It feels like velvet and get grippier the more you sweat. Spray it with some water or wet you hands at the beginning for better stickiness before you get all sweaty.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really good for hot This mat was great for my hot practice, but a little slippery in non-heated environments.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Better than expected I confess, I bought this mat for the artwork but ended up being pleasantly surprised by the quality. It definitely needs a good soaking before use to make it slip-proof, but for the most part it stayed sticky and grippy though a 75 heated vinyasa flow. I imagine this is the kind of mat that improves with use - or at least becomes more grippy with use. I'm wondering how it will hold up to cleaning after multiple sweaty sessions, but all in all I'm pleased with this mat and will keep using it for hot practice.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Hot Yoga Use Only When this mat arrived I immediately took it out and unrolled it to find that the fabric is almost a suede consistency. This mat might be great for a yogi who only practices hot yoga for the only way I see the grip being better is for it to become damp. I do not advise buying this for Vinyasa or any practice the resembles power yoga or ashtanga poses. I am returning it and exchanging it for the Eko.

How is the grip if it isn’t wet? I am a yoga instructor and teach vinyasa but I’m not always sweating a lot. I no longer use my last manduka pro mat because it never broke in even after months of use and 2 salt treatments. Not sure I’d I should risk it.

I think the grip is good even in slower flow and restore classes, though it seems others have had problems. Once my body is just a little warm, it’s just like using a towel on top of any other mat.

I just received this mat in the mail. I'm thinking of returning it. I immediately tried Downward dog and slid right off. Is this normal? I'm so disappointed.

I had this problem. I agree with ayogi's tip. But if your main practice isn't hot yoga, I suggest returning it and swapping it out for something like the eKo (I called their customer service and they gave me a coupon code since I bought my mat during cyber monday discount).

Is this a mat or a towel? I'm confused. But I LOVE the artists' designs!!

Asked by: hopeforsun
It’s both! Imagine a towel seamlessly glued on top of your regular mat. I just got mine today and I’m impressed so far!

What Yoga towel goes best with this? I wanted to get Yogitoes but I saw that the towels dyes could bleed onto the mat... I do Hot Yoga and prefer a towel over my mat but do not want to ruin this beautiful design !

Asked by: NicoleK
This is a mat/towel hybrid so you don’t need a towel for this! I just got mine today. Imagine your towel is glued on top of your mat (seamlessly of course).

Do you offer a lifetime guarantee with this model?  It's not explicitly listed as it is in the Pro etc.  I'm just nervous with the gripping issues stated by some practitioners on this review.  Thank you.

Asked by: Amy13

How often should this mat be washed? After every use like a yogitoes towel? How does it hold up after multiple machine washes?
