  • Use & Care

To Clean: All eKO series mats can be cleaned by wiping down the mat with Manduka’s Mat Restore Spray (a vinegar based solution) or a 50/50 mixture of water and organic apple cider vinegar. It is recommended that you DO NOT put your eKO mat in the washing machine, as it will encourage the material to break down. DO NOT soak or submerge in water and DO NOT use any type of soap for cleaning, as it will compromise the performance and integrity of the mat.

To Store: Do not leave the mat exposed to direct sunlight. If wet, allow the mat to dry before rolling up.

  • Sustainability

The eKO Lite Mat is a natural yoga mat made from sustainably harvested tree rubber. Unlike other rubber mats available today, the foaming agents used to create the eKO Lite are non-toxic. What this means is that no toxic chemicals have gone into the manufacturing process to soften the rubber. Additionally, instead of using synthetic polyester for reinforcement, we have chosen to use a blend of polyester and natural cotton. According to both customer feedback and published yoga mat reviews, the eKO Lite Mat is a high performance mat that is also good for the environment.

eKO® Lite Yoga Mat 4mm

The eKO Mat represents a bright future for the eco-friendly yoga mat - it leaves behind no footprint in landfills, but will definitely make a lasting impression in the studio. These natural rubber mats use a toxic-free softening process and are completely free of harmful foaming agents and plasticizers found in other mats.

Tri-Layer Technology offers an optimal combination of grip, durability, comfort, and performance:

Top Layer: Natural sealed-cell surface keeps out moisture and sweat from seeping into the mat and breeding bacteria.
Center Layer: Stretch-resistant scrim binds the unique layers together using a heating process which eliminates the need for toxic glues.
Bottom Layer: Thicker, bottom layer provides lightweight cushion and excellent loft for your practice!

Discoloration can be a by-product of natural rubber products. To keep your mat in the best condition, visit the use & care section.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolutely in love This is my first legit yoga mat, all the others I have had were cheap and flimsy. I'm so glad I went with this mat, it's durable and I don't slip when I use it. So worth the investment

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 3rd eKO Mat This is one of three mats I have. The super thin one for travel, one at home and one at the studio I practice at. I like the textured grip and feel like I stick better. It’s ok for hot yoga, still need a towel, but I sweat more.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it! Great mat! Was putting off buying a new one because I didn't want to have to deal with breaking it in... but so glad I did! The mat is super sticky and didn't need any breaking in! Love it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful mat! Color is great. The red is not too bright. There is also horizontal texture pattern that is beautiful and functional and helps with grip. It smells like a natural mat, but hopefully with time it will fade. I love it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Cadillac of mats I love my new mat! It always lies flat. It's nonslip surface is great. My only negative issue is that since the mat is black, it always shows white footprints. No matter how clean or moisturized my feet are it looks like I walked on it with baby powder. I'll get used to it. Also, I am 5'7" and the perfect mat generator suggested a 68" mat while I definitely could have gone for a longer size to accommodate wide stances and long stretching.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Forever an eKO Lite fan I know lots of people love the PRO mat but if you like natural rubber mats, the eKO Lite is the best one on the market. A slightly bouncy ride makes me feel confident and supported in all my poses. Plus, this new marbled color gets me so many compliments in class.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better than the mat from Target I've only been practicing yoga for just over a year, and I've been through three mats. My yoga teacher recommended Manduka as an especially high quality mat, so I shopped their website and decided to buy an eKO Lite that was on sale. It was three times the price of the yoga mats I'd bought at Target and TJMaxx, but I figured if it lasted longer, it would be worth it. Boy, howdy. Smelled like a tire factory when I unwrapped it, but after leaving it out on the deck to air in the shade for a couple of days, it was bearable. It's been fading, so it's not an issue a month out. It feels grippy, and it's more stable for balancing poses. I never slip, and it doesn't *follow* your toes up so it is less likely to catch on my toes as I jump back to downward dog, etc. It's pretty to look at as I use it too. Love the purple color. Very pleased with my Manduka mat, and I let other students try it out to see what a good mat feels like. :-)
