What is project:OM?
Project:OM is a mindful movement to drive positive change on an epic level. The inaugural event during May 12-14th, 2017 will bring together one million bodies in the world’s biggest yoga class to benefit Susan G. Komen®.
In the yogi tradition, the OM symbol represents the entirety of the universe. In English, it reminds us of the One Million bodies that will come together for this epic event.
Why is project:OM partnering with Susan G. Komen®?
How can I participate?
To date, Susan G. Komen® has invested more than $2.9 billion in research and lifesaving community programs. Their signature event, The Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure® Series, hosts nearly 150 events on five continents, involving more than 1 million participants annually.
Susan G. Komen’s Bold Goal is to reduce the current number of breast cancer deaths by 50% in the U.S. by 2026. With a global headquarters in Dallas, TX and a robust network of US and International Affiliates, Susan G. Komen's mission is to save lives and end breast cancer forever.

What percentage of donations support Komen’s mission?
There are three ways to get involved.
- Classes will be hosted at yoga studios and Simon Malls across the country over Mother’s Day Weekend, May 12-14th, 2017. Large scale classes will be held in major cities across the United States. If you live somewhere remote or prefer to participate from home, we have online options too! Sign up for a class here.
- Participate in our M Challenge to raise awareness. Instructions and examples are available here.
- Donate. 100% of project:OM donations will go to Susan G. Komen®.
What does cancer treatment have to do with yoga?
Eighty cents of every dollar raised goes to mission programs, including about 20-25 cents on average to research. More information about donations can be found here
Do I have to donate to take a class?
We believe yoga has the transformative power to heal, reveal and inspire. Studies have shown that people who get regular exercise, like yoga, are at lower risk of breast cancer than people who are inactive. Studies also suggest that practicing yoga for just ten weeks seems to reduce stress and anxiety in people experiencing mild-to-moderate levels of stress. Yoga appears to work about as well as relaxation therapy or cognitive behavioral therapy.
