PRO Series Lifetime Guarantee
Manduka guarantees the Black Mat® PRO, Manduka PRO and PROlite yoga mats to be free of manufacturer defects and to last a lifetime, if used and cared for properly. Since the The PRO Squared is a multi-purpose mat, it is not included under the Lifetime Guarantee. Should a PRO mat not meet Manduka's standard of quality at the time it is received, we will replace the product, regardless of where it was purchased. If the product wears out from regular use, under normal conditions, we will replace the product, regardless of where it was purchased. Damage resulting from improper handling or care, post-purchase modifications, alterations, negligence, and use for a purpose other than for which it was designed, are not covered by the Manduka Guarantee.
If you would like to request a replacement mat, please fill out a contact form. Manduka will review the submission, determine if the PRO Series mat falls under our Lifetime Guarantee program criteria, and provide further instruction. You will receive a response to your inquiry within two business days.
The following conditions are covered under our Lifetime Guarantee for Manduka PRO and Prolite mats:
• Surface imperfections, such as gouges, slices and divots found at the time of purchase before use.
• Worn or peeling top or bottom surface from regular use.
• Undefined surface pattern (no fabric-like finish).

Examples of criteria not covered under our lifetime gurantee for Manduka PRO and PROlite mats include:

- Improper cleaning (i.e. harsh chemicals, damage from a washing machine,

PRO Yoga Mats
Yes, Manduka is proud to currently offer the PRO mat in distinct sizes:
These mats are actually more similar than they are different! Both the Manduka PRO and PROlite feature the same fabric-like finish, superior cushion, slip-resistant, non-sticky surface and a lifetime guarantee. They have been Manduka’s top-selling high performance mats for 10+ years! So what sets them apart? The differences are found in their weight, thickness and color. The PROlite was designed for yogis who want the look and feel of the Manduka PRO, but prefer a lighter version, built to go everywhere. Available in several passion-inspiring colors, the PROlite offers superior quality and comfort, just like big brother Manduka PRO, but weighs in at just 4 lbs.
We consider a PRO purchase an environmentally conscious choice. In general, PVC is not environmentally friendly, as it seeps toxins into landfills and toxins are often released during the manufacturing process. However, we are happy to report that that our PRO mats are free of toxins (specifically phthalate free) and that the PRO manufacturing process is certified emissions free. Additionally, OEKO-TEX, a European association for textile industries, certifies the Manduka PRO Series mats are safe and free of harmful substances.
Eco-responsibility starts by reducing consumption. The product’s durability will drastically reduce the amount of yoga mats bought and thrown out into landfills. It also allows people to donate the mats when they are ready for something new to people who may not be able to afford a new yoga mat.
All of our mats have been designed by yoga teachers for function, comfort and longevity. The PRO line is made from eco-certified safe PVC.
No. Manduka PRO Series mats are 100% latex-free!
Lightly scrub the mat with a soft brush, cloth or sponge using Manduka’s All-Purpose Mat Wash, or any other gentle non-solvent cleaner. Please avoid using vinegar based cleaning solutions as they will dull any metallic and opalescent properties. Wipe clean with water and air dry in the sunshine.
We do not recommend cleaning your mat with a garden hose, putting it in the bathtub, shower, washing machine, or using a vacuum cleaner – any of the following will likely damage the mat and void the Lifetime Guarantee.
Much like a baseball glove, there is a break-in period for all PRO Series mats. The more the mat is used, the softer and grippier the material becomes!
The break-in period varies from mat to mat since it is a textile and also because each yogi’s practice varies quite a bit. Typically, it takes about three months of daily practice and a bit of slipping during that time so that the friction of feet and hands break-in the mat.
To speed up the process see our answer to "How do I break in my new PRO Series mat?"
Just like your favorite pair of jeans or a well-worn baseball glove, the PRO requires a break-in process, or PROcess as we like to call it, which is really more like a ritual. As you practice, the top surface will naturally wear in, transforming it into one that’s uniquely yours. The more you stretch, twist, sweat and breathe together, the better it gets—just like your practice.
Designed to last a lifetime (with a guarantee to back it up), you’ll never wear your PRO mat out, you’ll just wear it in. In fact, some of our very first (and now legendary) Black Mat PROs are still being used today—that’s nearly 20 years of practice and still flowing strong. Regardless of which break-in method you use, it’s really all about making the mat yours.
The best way to break in your mat is practice, practice, practice, but if you want to speed things up a little, try the salt method below or view our break-in video:
The top of the mat has a slip resistant, fabric-like finish and frog logo in the top right-hand corner. The bottom has a dot pattern texture, which prevents the mat from sliding on the bottom surface.
If you store your mat rolled up, try rolling it so the top surface is facing outwards. This keeps the corners of the mat flat when practicing.
In addition to keeping the mat unrolled, you can clean the mat with our All-Purpose Mat Wash – a certified organic cleaning solution with essential oils specially formulated to keep your yoga mat clean, disinfected and smelling fresh.
eKO Yoga Mats
Our PRO Series has been known as the Taj Mahal of yoga mats for 10+ years. Backed by a Lifetime Guarantee, the closed-cell construction provides dense support while the fabric-like finish allows optimal movement between poses. Designed to last a lifetime (or two), Manduka PRO series yoga mats curb the amount of PVC that enter landfills each year and reduces overall mat consumption.
The eKO Series, made of all natural non-Amazon harvested tree rubber, is the next generation of eco-friendly yoga mats. Developed over four years of research, the sealed-cell surface provides a stable practice with wet-grip. We are proud to say that Manduka’s eKO mat is manufactured without any toxic glues or foaming agents and is more durable than other natural rubber mats found in the marketplace.
Wondering why we keep mentioning cells? A closed-cell or sealed-cell surface means your mat will not absorb sweat and moisture, where other mats might. If you sweat regularly in your practice, consider pairing any of our mats with a yoga towel to keep your mat dry, and your practice in place.
Both the eKO Series and the PRO Series have been designed and engineered by yoga teachers to provide the ultimate surface to practice yoga. However, due to the different properties of the materials, they offer a different experience when practicing!
The PRO Series offers the ultimate durability, comfort and performance. In terms of thickness, the PRO mat (6mm) is a bit thicker than the eKO mat (5mm). All PRO Series mats offer strong and dense support, ideal for sensitive knees and joints.
The eKO mat has two layers of different densities to simultaneously provide comfort and durability. The eKO Series offers a soft, spongy support, ideal for yogis who like a grounding experience.
Durability and Performance:
Typical rubber eco-friendly yoga mats can be spongy and have an open-cell surface, due to the process that natural tree rubber goes through. Because they are open-cell, the durability of the mat is compromised and most rubber eco-friendly yoga mats break down fairly quickly, especially when exposed to humidity and/or sunlight.
In order to solve these problems, Manduka created the eKO mat with dual layers, each having unique material properties to provide superior durability and the ultimate combination of cushion and grip. The top layer is sealed-cell and imprinted with a slip resistant pattern, making it more durable than typical rubber mats and also grippy. The bottom layer is thick and spongy to provide comfort and cushion on any surface.
The eKO mat is made from natural, non-Amazon forested tree rubber. Unlike typical rubber eco-friendly mats available today, no toxic chemicals have gone into the manufacturing process to make the rubber spongy. Therefore, when the eKO mat is disposed of and biodegrades, it will leave behind no toxic residue.
All natural rubber mats do have a smell and the scent can be especially strong when the mat is new. The smell will fade, but not completely vanish, as eKO mats are made of all-natural tree rubber.
To make the smell fade more quickly, leave your mat unrolled in an airy, shaded area and wipe the mat down with a 50/50 mixture of organic cider vinegar and water or Manduka’s Mat Restore (a vinegar based solution).
As a note, the smell is natural and is not a result of off-gassing chemicals, as no toxic chemicals have gone into the manufacturing process.
Yes, Manduka is proud to currently offer the eKO mat in distinct sizes:
The luxurious thickness and spongy support of the eKO makes it heavier than other mats on the market. However, those who use the eKO say it’s worth the weight, as the dual layer developed for the eKO mat ensures maximum cushion and longevity. For customers who want a lighter option, we offer the eKO Lite mats!
The Manduka eKO is made of all-natural tree rubber and is the next generation eco mat. The eKO Series is our biodegradable line, providing superior slip resistance, and is best for light to medium perspiration. The top surface of the mat has a sealed-cell, durable surface and non-slip sea grass texture, while the bottom of the mat is open-cell to provide the perfect amount of cushion. We are proud to say that Manduka’s eKO mat is manufactured without any toxic glues or foaming agents and is more durable than other rubber mats found in the marketplace.
Through Manduka's manufacturing process, the eKO mat is 99% latex free, and safe to use for people with latex sensitivities. However, if you know you are sensitive to even traces of latex, we recommend you purchase from our PRO Series or LiveON Series.
We recommend using a 50/50 mixture of organic apple cider vinegar and water or Manduka’s Natural Rubber Mat Wash (a vinegar based solution).
We do not recommend cleaning your mat with a garden hose, putting it in the bathtub, shower, washing machine, or using a vacuum cleaner, as any of these will likely damage the mat beyond repair. Do not leave the mat exposed to excessive amounts of sunlight. Do not use any type of soap for cleaning, as it will compromise the performance and integrity of the mat.
The top of the mat has a slip-resistant rippled water texture and frog label in the top right-hand corner. The bottom is a sponge-like texture that provides a soft cushion and support.
Oxidation, or changes in color and texture, is a byproduct of all natural rubber products. Storing your eKO mat in a dry environment out of sunlight, will prolong the life of the mat. For optimum care, wipe down your mat with water before each use and clean as needed with Manduka’s Natural Rubber Mat Wash.
Regularly cleaning the eKO mat with a 50/50 mixture of organic apple cider vinegar and water will keep it in the cleanest and grippiest condition. Natural tree rubber often gets “thirsty” for vinegar and a good cleaning can make a world of difference in appearance and grip.
Without soaking or submerging, use a generous amount of the 50/50 mixture or our Mat Restore to clean the mat. Allow the cleaner to sit for a few minutes and then gently wipe around with a damp cloth and let the mat dry in a shaded area.
If you sweat a lot, there still might be a slight amount of slip in some standing poses and poses like down dog, but if you keep your awareness and energy moving towards, instead of away, from your center of gravity, the "slippage" stops and one can stay firm in the pose. Actually, a little slippage comes in handy in some poses. For instance, during shoulder stand or plow pose, when it's nice to allow the head to slide and the neck to lengthen.

No. Manduka LiveON Series mats are 100% latex-free!
Wipe the mat with a cloth dampened with water or Manduka’s All-Purpose Mat Wash.
We do not recommend cleaning your mat with a garden hose, putting it in the bathtub, shower, washing machine, or using a vacuum cleaner, as any of these will likely damage the mat beyond repair.
The top of the mat has a frog label in the top right-hand corner. The bottom has a dot pattern and the PLUSfoam® logo.
If you store your mat rolled up, try rolling it so the top surface is facing outwards. This keeps the corners of the mat flat when practicing.
Manduka's Mat Wash is a great all-purpose yoga mat cleaner that works best on our PRO Series, LiveON Series and other brands of yoga mats.
Natural Rubber Mat Wash is specially developed for natural rubber yoga mats, which includes our eKO series. It is formulated from a vinegar base which helps restore the original state of the natural material. Manduka's Natural Rubber Mat Wash can also be used to clean the PRO Series.
Spray the Mat Wash on the mat to lightly cover the top surface. Wipe down mat with a cloth. Air dry before rolling and using.
Spray a generous amount of Mat Wash to fully cover the top surface and let soak for 3-5 minutes. Use a damp cloth to wipe the surface and remove dirt and stains. Wipe mat down with a clean cloth. Air dry before rolling and using.

Natural Rubber Mat Wash Scents:
- Uplifting Palmarosa - Soft, fresh and floral.

Natural rubber yoga mats break down and oxidize over time and with use. This happens with any natural rubber yoga mat on the market. Vinegar restores the rubber and adds moisture and grip back to the mat, while prolonging its lifespan.
When laid down over your yoga mat, a high performance yoga towel provides a barrier for sweat absorption and will add traction to sweaty palms and feet. The beauty of our eQua towels is that the fabric becomes slip-resistant when damp. In other words, the more drippy, the more grippy! Before beginning practice, lightly mist both sides of the towel to ensure superior grip from start to finish.
The eQua Towel also doubles as a germ-free gym towel to absorb perspiration, a meditation shawl to stay warm during cool sitting sessions, and a travel or hiking towel that takes up minimal packing space.
All eQua Towels are made of a luxuriously soft microfiber but they vary in thickness:
- The eQua Towel is designed for light to medium perspiration and can be used in any type of yoga.
- The eQua HOT Towel is designed for medium to heavy perspiration and is the most absorbent towel of its kind, holding twice the amount of moisture as the eQua Towel. It is especially great for heated practices!
The main difference is the feel of the towel, as both eQua and yogitoes towels will absorb sweat and offer excellent grip in even the sweatiest of situations. However, due to their design, they offer a different experience when practicing!
The eQua towel is a smooth and soft experience and it features a moisture activated grip.
The yogitoes towel is a textured and tactile experience because of the silicone nubs and is grippy in wet or dry conditions.
The eQua Towel does not have a top and bottom surface, making it incredibly versatile.
The eQua Towel is made of a proprietary microfiber material that is ultra-luxurious to the touch. The suede-like texture is on both sides and the microfiber fabric is comprised of 80% polyester and 20% nylon. The super absorbent, quick drying fabric is sheered and brushed for additional softness.
Our eQua Towels come in the following sizes:
We recommend washing with cold water and like colors, tumble dry low or hang dry and do not bleach. We do not recommend using dryer sheets, fabric softeners or detergents with fabric softener, as they will make the surface of your eQua Towel slick.
We use dyes that are heavy metal/azo/lead free and much better for the planet, so deeper colors may require multiple, separate washings to remove excess dye. Some dye loss may continue beyond the initial separate washings, so use caution when practicing on light colored mats or in light colored clothing. Be sure to avoid rolling up a damp eQua Towel with your mat.
As a note, it is possible for shrinking to occur if washed in warm water and/or dried in heat.
The yogitoes towel does indeed have a designated top and bottom. The patented Skidless technology grips to your mat and prevents slipping no matter how much you move or sweat. The smooth side without the silicone nubs is meant to provide a luxurious feeling on your hands and feet.
The yogitoes Towel is made of a recycled and proprietary microfiber material. A woven texture on both sides, the microfiber fabric is comprised of 10% Nylon, 50% Recycled Polyester, 40% Virgin Polyester Microfiber and the skidless dots are 100% silicone.
Our yogitoes Towels come in the following sizes:
We recommend machine washing with cold water and like colors, tumble dry low or hang dry and do not bleach. We do not recommend using dryer sheets, fabric softeners or detergents with fabric softener, as they will make the surface of your yogitoes slick.

Wool blankets are commonly used in restorative yoga, prenatal and Iyengar and are a great substitute for a bolster. They are great for any postures relating to meditation and rest, as well as Savasana. Some yogis like placing it under their knees or back during Savasana for added comfort.
The Recycled Wool Blanket fabric consists of 75% recycled wool and 25% synthetic material content. The synthetic content includes polyester, wool, and acrylic. The wool content is recycled material. Textile wastes like woolen tailor cutting and hosiery cuttings, which we collect, convert into wool fiber, spin into a yarn, and weave the fabric that makes up the blanket.
We have combed each Wool Blanket to reduce shedding and pilling but, like any wool product, fibers can come loose and separate. The dense weave of the Wool Blanket makes it resistant to stretching and super warm!
Comparable to other blankets of its kind, the Wool Blanket is 60”x82” (152.40cm x 208.28cm). The Wool Blanket weighs about 3.5lbs [1,5 kg], just enough to provide you with a stable support, while still being light enough to carry to class.
We recommend dry cleaning the Wool Blanket, as this will give it the best care and allow for a prolonged lifespan.
If you must to wash the Wool Blanket, we suggest hand washing or washing in a delicate cycle, using mild detergents. Do not put it in the dryer; always hang dry on a line. You may also iron the Wool Blanket!
Bolsters are commonly used in restorative yoga, prenatal and Iyengar, but can be a valuable prop in any style. They are very helpful for postures relating to meditation and rest.
Some yogis like placing them under their knees or back during Savasana for added comfort. Using a bolster can be a comfortable way to open the chest and help one focus on their breathing.
Manduka's bolster is made from a proprietary airCORE technology, which effectively reduces the weight by 30%.
airCORE technology is a proprietary construction that creates a void in the center of the bolster, comprised of durable air-filled pockets featuring 25% post-consumer recycled plastic content.
The airCORE technology increases durability and prolongs the original shape of the bolster throughout its lifespan so that it can easily withstand body weight use after use.
The cover of Manduka's bolster is made from a soft, durable micro-fiber fabric that wicks and disperses moisture. The cover also utilizes a wrap-around, reversible zipper, which enables easy removal and re-fitting of the cover for washing.
Remove cover from bolster before washing and machine wash cold, preferably with powder detergent. Hang drying is preferred or tumble dry on low. When re-covering bolster, please make sure the seam of the inner bag lines up identically with the zipper, so that the bolster's shape is cylindrical with minimal twisting.
We feel it’s safest to know exactly what is coming into contact with your water. This is why safe, non-leaching, and durable 304 grade stainless steel is used.
Aluminum is known to leach various chemicals, which are bad for your health. To counter leaching, many aluminum bottle companies will line the inside of their bottles with an epoxy, ceramic, plastic, or other unknown coating. These coatings have been known to leach or crack over the life of the bottle.
The Stainless Steel Water Bottles are made of a 100% BPA free stainless steel. We do not add any inner linings or plastics and the bottles are 100% recyclable.
The plastic cap is made with 100% BPA free Polypropylene #5 plastic.
The non-slip pad on the bottom of the bottle is a safe non-toxic EVA (Ethylene Vinyl Acetate). EVA is a common material that is recyclable and used in many products, including baby teething toys.
You may carry any cold liquids including juice, soda, milk or alcohol, as our bottle is designed to withstand deterioration caused by acids in citrus juices or soda drinks. However, stainless steel is a great conductor of heat so we do not recommend that you pour hot liquids into your canteen.
For day to day cleaning, a simple rinse with warm, soapy water, followed by air drying with the cap off works great. Although they are dishwasher safe, we recommend that you hand wash your Stainless Steel Water Bottle with a nonabrasive pad or brush for a safer and better cleaning. If an even deeper cleaning is desired, you can rinse your bottle with a baking soda or vinegar solution.
Meditation Cushions are commonly used in restorative yoga and meditation practices, but can be a valuable prop in any style. They are very helpful for alignments in long sitting sessions.
Some yogis like sitting on it in Sukhasana (easy pose) to elevate and support their hips.
Inner pillow: Cotton batting is a natural material and organic buckwheat hulls are a sustainable product. The hulls (aka the husks) are utilized after the harvesting of the buckwheat fruit that grows inside when they would otherwise go to waste.
Machine wash on cold with like colors. Tumble dry low or hang dry. We do not recommend using dryer sheets or scented detergents.
Inner cover can be washed and dried but remove all buckwheat hulls beforehand.
As a note, wetting or soaking the buckwheat hulls will compromise the function and integrity of the hulls. If buckwheat hulls do get wet and become damaged, they can be replaced with new hulls. Buckwheat hulls can be purchased from your local grocer.
