  • Use & Care

To Clean: All eKO series mats can be cleaned by wiping down the mat with Manduka’s Natural Rubber Mat Wash. It is recommended that you DO NOT put your eKO mat in the washing machine, as it will encourage the material to break down. DO NOT soak or submerge in water and DO NOT use any type of soap for cleaning, as it will compromise the performance and integrity of the mat.

To Store: Do not leave the mat exposed to direct sunlight. If wet, allow the mat to dry before rolling up.

Please note - the salt method is not intended for eKO mats.

  • Sustainability

The eKO Lite Mat is a natural yoga mat made from sustainably harvested tree rubber. Unlike other rubber mats available today, the foaming agents used to create the eKO Lite are non-toxic. What this means is that no toxic chemicals have gone into the manufacturing process to soften the rubber. Additionally, instead of using synthetic polyester for reinforcement, we have chosen to use a blend of polyester and natural cotton. According to both customer feedback and published yoga mat reviews, the eKO Lite Mat is a high performance mat that is also good for the environment.

eKO® Lite Yoga Mat 4mm - Atoll

The eKO Mat represents a bright future for the eco-friendly yoga mat - it leaves behind no footprint in landfills, but will definitely make a lasting impression in the studio. These natural rubber mats use a toxic-free softening process and are completely free of harmful foaming agents and plasticizers found in other mats.

Tri-Layer Technology offers an optimal combination of grip, durability, comfort, and performance:

Top Layer: Natural sealed-cell surface keeps out moisture and sweat from seeping into the mat and breeding bacteria.
Center Layer: Stretch-resistant scrim binds the unique layers together using a heating process which eliminates the need for toxic glues.
Bottom Layer: Thicker, bottom layer provides lightweight cushion and excellent loft for your practice!

Discoloration can be a by-product of natural rubber products. To keep your mat in the best condition, visit the use & care section.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Mat! This is my second Manduka mat. My first one is still holding up great after 5 years of use (I even did 200hrs of Hot Power YTT on it). I will never use a different mat. Works well in hot sweaty classes. Never any slipping. Tried and true, the best!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just sticky enough! My last mat was a Jade mat, which I loved and used until it started disintegrating. On the advice of several yogini friends, I purchased this mat. I love it! Just grippy enough to hold up during a hot class. I recommend leaving it out in the sun for an hour or so when you receive it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this mat! Before purchasing this, I was using a cheap mat from a store in the mall. It was thin, had zero grip and was not very comfortable on a hard studio floor. After some researching I found the eKO mat and I am loving this one! First, it’s light enough that it travels well. It’s 4mm thick which is plenty coushioning and supportive. It has a good grip weather I’m sweating during a more intense flow or doing yoga inspired workouts or just doing some restorative yoga. Super happy and impressed with this mat!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love this mat I read tons of reviews and ended up getting the Eko lite mat, it does smell like rubber a little, but not nearly as much as people say and I’ve kinda come to like the smell. haha. My favorite thing about it is how grippy it is. Would totally recommend this mat and already did. A couple of my friends have gotten them and love them just like I do!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Yoga Mat EVER! I recently purchased this mat and brought it to a vinyasa class and I was impressed. The grip is strong! As I jumped back the mat held me in alignment- no slipping at all! I left it open and draped over a table in the garage for over a week and there was no smell. The bonus is how beautiful the colors are.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great yoga mat This is my first Manduka mat and I am SO impressed! It is super sticky and has allowed me to really focus on my practice, instead of worrying about slipping. The pattern is gorgeous, it looks even better in person. Like other reviews, it does have a strong smell, but I left it in the shade on my porch and it lessened greatly in a few days. The smell certainly would not keep me from ordering another one. The only con I would say is it would be a bit short if you are taller. I am 5'5 and definitely would not want it any shorter.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Mat Love the look, weight, and right amount of grip on this mat!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Comfortable on my knees but, I still slip I got this mat for two reasons. One was because I needed something a little thicker for my knees and the other was I wanted a mat I wouldn't slip with during hot classes. I am happy to say it is more comfortable on my knees however, I am disappointed that I still slip in my warm and hot classes. I thought with how it was advertised that I would not slip since, it states it has a slip resistant or something like that. It is better than my previous mat but, I would say if you are not looking for the extra cushion then go with another mat.
