From January 18 to February 28, we’ll be looking for the most creative, passionate, and genuine ways our followers plan to create a ripple effect in their communities. Share a 60-second video showcasing how you'll make 2017 a better place to our Create.It page for a chance to win the experience of a lifetime.The grand prize winner will receive an all-expenses-paid trip to the Prema Peru Retreat with Souljourn Yoga (May 26-June 4, 2017) and $500 of Manduka gear for the ride. This stellar retreat includes daily yoga classes, an excursion to Machu Picchu, zip-lining, hiking, and best of all, a worthy contribution to the local community.

Souljourn Yoga Retreats are unique in that they give back to the communities they visit. In Peru, retreat attendees will visit the Sacred Valley Project — a nonprofit that provides dormitories to girls who would not otherwise have access to a secondary education. In the name of making ripples, Manduka will be donating $1000 in the winner's name to support this cause.

The Ripple Effect Contest Official Rules.

NO PURCHASE OR OBLIGATION NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. A PURCHASE WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR ODDS OF WINNING.  By participating in this Contest you are acknowledging that you have read and understand the below Contest Official Rules and agree to them.

Manduka Mats, Inc.  is the sole sponsor of this Contest (“Sponsor”) and has exclusive responsibility for the operation and the terms and conditions governing this Contest

Prizes

Grand Prize (1):
One (1) ticket to Souljourn Peru Yoga Retreat in Peru May 26-June 4, 2017 + one (1) roundtrip flight to Cusco’s Alejandro Velasco Astete International Airport + one (1) $500 voucher to Manduka.com. One winner will be chosen by our Ripple Effect Panel and notified via email
by March 31, 2017. Retail value: Up to $5,000.

Second Prize (1):
One (1) $350 voucher to Manduka.com. One winner will be chosen by our Ripple Effect Panel and notified via email
by March 31, 2017. Retail value: Up to $350.

Third Prize (1):
One (1) $250 voucher to Manduka.com. One winner will be chosen by our Ripple Effect Panel and notified via email
by March 31, 2017. Retail value: Up to $250.

These prizes are non-transferable, with no cash redemption or equivalent.  Any and all federal, state, local, and other taxes on prize are the sole responsibility of the winner. All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply. Sponsor is only responsible for awarding the number of prizes as stated in these rules. Sponsor expressly disclaims any responsibility or liability for injury or loss to any person or property relating to the delivery and/or subsequent use of the prize awarded.

The Grand Prize includes round-trip coach-class airfare for winner from major commercial airport nearest winner’s residence (as determined by Sponsor) to Alejandro Velasco Astete International Airport, one (1) ticket to the Souljourn Peru Yoga Retreat in Peru May 26, 2017-June 4, 2017, and one (1) $500 voucher to Manduka.com, provided that the total value of the Grand Prize does not exceed $5,000.  Should the total value of the Grand Prize exceed $5,000, the Grand Prize Winner will be responsible for the difference.  Actual value of the Grand Prize will vary, depending on such things as airfare fluctuations and point of origin.  If actual value of the Grand Prize is lower than $5,000, the difference will not be awarded.  Grand Prize Winner also shall be responsible for all expenses not specifically provided for in the price, including, but not limited to, meals, local transportation incidentals, gratuities, and personal expenses.  If Grand Prize Winner is not available for travel during the dates of the Souljourn Peru Yoga Retreat, another Grand Prize Winner will be chosen.  If the Souljourn event is cancelled for any reason, the Grand Prize shall be void.  Travel arrangements to be determined by Sponsor.  Exact travel arrangements subject to availability.  If winner is eligible, but a minor in his/her state of residence, he/she must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.  Grand Prize Winner is responsible for obtaining any necessary travel documents.  Grand Prize Winner may be required to provide a current valid major credit card at time of hotel check-in to cover incidentals, and any and all costs, fees, and expenses not expressly stated in the prize description.  Airlines, hotels and other suppliers selected in the sole discretion of the Sponsor.  Approximate retail value of the Grand Prize is based, in part, on sample airfares as of January 2017.  Trip prize (or any portion thereof) may not be sold, traded, transferred, assigned, rescheduled to dates outside dates set forth above, or refunded, and are not redeemable for cash.  Elements of trip prize may be subject to change. If a prize, or any portion thereof, cannot be awarded for any reason, Sponsor reserves the right to substitute prize with another prize of equal or greater value.

Winner Determination and Conditions

There will be one (1) Grand Prize Winner, one (1) Second Prize Winner and one (1) Third Prize Winner selected by The Ripple Effect Panel, consisting of six (6) of Manduka’s ambassadors and partners - Alexis Novak, Danni Pomplun, Jana Roemer, Jaysea DeVoe, Jordan, Mary Beth LaRue,

from all eligible Entries received. The winners will be notified via email. By accepting a prize, except where prohibited by law, winners agree to the use of his/her name, address (city, state), likeness, voice, photograph, other indicia of persona and/or statements made by winner regarding the prize.

Who May Enter
This contest is open only to legal residents of the 50 United States, the District of Columbia, or Canada, excluding residents of Delaware or Quebec (the “Territory”), who are 18 or over as of the date of entry (“Entrants”). If you do not reside in the Territory or are otherwise ineligible, do not attempt to enter the Contest. Void outside the Territory and where prohibited by law. This Contest does not discriminate against anyone based on race, sex, age, handicap, religion, national origin or marital status.  Employees of Sponsor or its related entities, affiliates, subsidiaries, distributors, and suppliers, and their immediate families (spouses, parents, children and siblings and their respective spouses, whether biological, step or in-law) and those living in the same household of such employees, are not eligible to enter.  Contest begins January 18,
2017 at 12:01am PST, and ends on March 13, 2017 at 11:59 pm PST (the “Promotion Period”). Limit one entry per person; multiple entries will not increase chances of winning.

How to Enter

  • Sign-in with Facebook Profile and/or Facebook Login
  • Submit video submission uploaded from Facebook, YouTube, or Vimeo. Video submissions should be no more than 60 seconds and show how the Entrant plans to make the world a better place in 2017(each video an “Entry”).

By submitting an Entry, you warrant and represent that: (a) it is your original work, (b) it has not been previously published, (c) it does not infringe upon the copyrights, trademarks, rights of privacy, publicity or other intellectual property or other rights of any person or entity, (d) you have obtained permission from a person whose name or likeness is used in the Entry, and (e) publication of the Entry via various media, including Web posting, will not infringe on the rights of any third parties. Any such Entrant will indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Sponsor from any claims to the contrary.

Entries may not be obscene or indecent; be sexually explicit or suggestive, profane or pornographic, violent or derogatory of any ethnic, racial, gender, religious, professional or age group; promote alcohol, illegal drugs, tobacco, firearms/weapons (or the use of any of the foregoing), any activities that may appear unsafe or dangerous, or any political agenda or message; endorse any form of hate or hate group; defame, misrepresent or contain disparaging remarks about Sponsor or its products or services, or other people, products or companies; communicate messages or images inconsistent with the positive images and/or goodwill to which Sponsor wishes to associate; invade privacy or other rights of any person, firm or entity; in any other way violate any applicable federal, state or local laws or regulations; contain any reference to any third party trademarks or names or any copyrighted components; and contain any personal identification, such as license plate numbers, personal names, email addresses or street addresses.  Entries not in compliance may be disqualified.

BY SUBMITTING AN ENTRY, ENTRANT ACKNOWLEDGES THAT HIS/HER ENTRY MAY BE POSTED ON SPONSOR’S WEBSITE, IN SPONSOR’S DISCRETION.

By submitting an Entry, Entrants agree that the Entries are gratuitous and made without restriction, and will not place Sponsor under any obligation, that Sponsor is free to disclose the ideas contained in the Entry on a non-confidential basis to anyone or otherwise use the ideas without any additional compensation to Entrants. Entrants acknowledge that, by acceptance of their Entries, Sponsor does not waive any rights to use similar or related ideas previously known to Sponsor, or developed by its employees, or obtained from sources other than entrants.

No other method of entry will be accepted or acknowledged. Entries must include all the required information or they will not be eligible.  Although the Sponsor is using Facebook to facilitate this Contest, this Contest is not in any manner sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with Facebook. Becoming a fan of the Sponsor on Facebook does not constitute an entry into the Contest or increase odds of winning.

Automated or robotic Entries submitted by individuals or organizations will be disqualified. Any attempt by Entrant to obtain more than the stated number of Entries by using multiple/different email addresses, identities, registrations, logins or any other methods, including, but not limited to, commercial contest/sweepstakes subscription notification and/or entering services, will void Entrant's Entries and that Entrant may be disqualified. Final eligibility for the award of any prize is subject to eligibility verification. All Entries must be posted by the end of the Promotion Period in order to participate. Sponsor’s database clock will be the official timekeeper for this Contest.

Sponsor is not responsible for problems downloading or uploading any Contest-related information or entries to or from the website or for any other technical malfunctions of electronic equipment, computer online systems, servers, or providers, computer hardware or software failures, phone lines, technical problems, traffic, congestion on the internet or the website, or any other technical problems related to website entries including telecommunication miscommunication or failure, and failed, lost, delayed, incomplete, garbled or misdirected communications which may limit an entrant’s ability to participate in this Content. Sponsor reserves the right to cancel, suspend, and/or modify the Contest if any fraud, virus or other technical problem corrupts the administration, security, or proper delay of the Contest as determined by Sponsor. In such event, Sponsor reserves the right to award the prizes from among the eligible Entries received up to the time of impairment. Sponsor also reserves the right to eliminate all Entrants found to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Contest or to be acting in violation of these Contest Official Rules or in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner. Any attempt by any person to undermine the legitimate operation of the Contest may be a violation of criminal and civil law, and should such an attempt be made, Sponsor reserves the right to seek damages from any such person to the fullest extent permitted by law. Sponsor’s failure to enforce any term of these Official Rules shall not constitute a waiver of that provision. Sponsor shall not be responsible for any lost, garbled, incomplete or corrupted entries, and qualified entries shall be determined solely in the discretion of Sponsor.

Release and Limitation of liability
All winners agree to release and forever hold harmless Sponsor,
its related and affiliated entities and their respective officers, directors, employees, members, affiliates and agents from and against any claim or cause of action whatsoever arising out of participation in the Contest or any claims arising from and against all losses, damages, liabilities, claims, actions, proceedings, or judgments arising out of or relating to Entrant’s entry or participation or use or misuse of Prizes.  All Entrants agree to release and forever hold harmless Sponsor, its related and affiliated entities and their respective officers, directors, employees, members, affiliates and agents from and against any claim or cause of action whatsoever arising out of any technical or human error which may occur in the processing of submissions in the Contest.  Although this promotion is in no way endorsed or administered by, or associated with Facebook, Facebook’s terms and conditions and privacy policy may apply to information submitted by Entrant in response to this Contest.  For a full explanation of Facebook’s polices regarding your information, you should review the applicable terms and conditions and privacy policy of Facebook.  You understand that you are providing your information to Sponsor and not to Facebook. Disputes
Except where prohibited, all issues concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Official Rules or the rights and obligations of the Entrants, winners and Sponsor in connection with the Contest shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of State of California, without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules which would cause the application of the laws of any jurisdiction other than the State of California.  Any and all disputes arising directly or indirectly out of or in connection with this Contest shall be brought exclusively in State or Federal Court in Los Angeles County, CA.  The Contest is intended for viewing and participation at the time of entry and shall be construed and evaluated only according to United States law.  EXCEPT WHERE PROHIBITED, AS A CONDITION OF PARTICIPATING IN THE CONTEST, EACH ENTRANT AGREES THAT ANY AND ALL DISPUTES, CLAIMS AND CAUSES OF ACTION ARISING OUT OF OR CONNECTED WITH THIS CONTEST SHALL BE RESOLVED INDIVIDUALLY, WITHOUT RESORT TO ANY FORM OF CLASS ACTION.
