Manduka eKO SuperLite Travel Yoga Mat

Yoga is a particularly efficient fitness practice with the added benefit of being very travel friendly with its minimum of gear. However, somewhat ironically, the best yoga mats are dense, relatively heavy and rather unwieldly -- not particularly travel friendly. Lucky for us the yoga innovators at Manduka (www.manduka.com) have done a nice job of changing all of that with their innovative super light yoga mat. Their product melds the ruggedness of the best yoga mats -- it is made with biodegradable rubber that won't fade or flake -- in a supremely lightweight -- only about two pounds -- portable form. I tried out the mat at my studio of choice, Sayville Hot Yoga (www.sayvillehotyoga.com) and despite its light weight found it equal to the task on a hard surface in a challenging 100-degree yoga classroom. Truth be told, it is probably best to use it on the beach or on a joint friendly surface like carpeting. However, it is good to know the mat is up to the most challenging of yoga scenarios, even while looking particularly chic folded up (yes, you can fold it up) in your beach or messenger bag.
