Certified Iyengar yoga instructor Don Gura will conduct a yoga class at the Boise Yoga Center with all the proceeds going to the World Bicycle Relief, a non-profit that has distributed more than 71,000 bicycles to date primarily in Indonesia and Zambia. Right now World Bicycle Relief is working to provide 50,000 bikes to 5,000 schools across Zambia through BEEP—Bicycles for Educational Empowerment Program. There will be a raffle for Manduka yoga props, t-shirts and more special gifts from the community.

With World Bicycle Relief’s bicycles costing only $134 each to produce, distribute, and maintain, we are looking to help World Bicycle Relief get one step closer to their goals and would love your help! Through our benefit yoga class and raffle we are trying to raise funds for 10 bicycles which will take $1,340 dollars to achieve.

Did you know, that bicycles multiply an individual’s efforts by:
1) Riding a bicycle increases one’s carrying capacity by 5 times,
2) Over equal units of time, one can ride a bicycle 4 times the distance as one walking.
3) During a commuting day of 10 miles traveled, a bicycle saves 3 hours.

Class will begin promptly at 10:00 am and ends at 11:30 am. No yoga experience is required. We will supply all of your yoga props. Please wear comfortable clothes that you can move around in easily. Shorts are preferred over pants. The raffle will be held afterwards. If you can’t make it to the yoga class, you can still purchase raffle tickets…No need to be present to win! We will also present more information about what the World Bicycle Relief organization is about after class before the raffle drawing begins.
