Like yoga, I happily stumbled across my Manduka eKO™ by chance. Each time I step on my Manduka, it reminds me to remain open to the joy that the unexpected holds.

Why Manduka?: My mat is where my yoga practice lives. My Manduka feels like home.
What does your Manduka help you #practice?: Manduka helps me practice devotion. It's not what I do on my mat, it's that I get there.
Yoga Style: Forrest Yoga, Vinyasa
Practice with me here: Yoga Nanda , Good Ground Yoga

Description/Bio
Laura Ahrens took her first yoga class reluctantly but soon became a devoted practitioner. Yoga changed her life so much that she wanted to become a teacher, and she completed her training at Bamboomoves Yoga in Forest Hills, Queens and is a registered with the Yoga Alliance. She completed her prenatal yoga teacher training at Karma Kids in Manhattan under Juliana Secches. She practices 1st and 2nd degree Reiki as taught by Reiki Master Pamela Miles regularly and incorporates it in her teaching. Laura also holds a BFA from The University of the Arts in musical theater, and is currently working on her first album as a singer/songwriter.
Laura's classes blend traditional yogic philosophy-- texts, pranayama, meditation--with the modern teachings of masters, such as Dharma Mittra, Ana Forrest, and Shiva Rea, to create a practice that is evolutionary and alive. With attention to each individual’s particular body and spirit, this practice is creative and exists within a singular moment with the breath. Emphasis on alignment, development of muscular strength, physical and mental flexibility, and buoyancy of the spirit and the heart.
