The Pet Rescue Center
LAGUNA BEACH, Calif. – November 12, 2012 –The Pet Rescue Center (The PRC), a nonprofit 501(c)3 animal rescue group that provides temporary sanctuary and care for homeless pets in need, had its 4th annual Providing Shelter Benefit on November 3rd at Rosas Cantina in Olamendi’s Laguna Beach. The PRC’s Providing Shelter Benefit was a great fundraising success and introduced many passionate animal rescue supporters to their Rescue. Rehab. Re-home program.
It was an evening filled with appetizers, desserts, drinks, live music, a live painting and a silent auction. Manduka was happy to donate items for the silent auction portion of the event.
“More than 10,000 dogs and cats are euthanized in our nation each day. This is an issue that needs our attention, our activism and our intervention in each community. The Pet Rescue Center strives to take in as many cases as possible from across California, by working cooperatively with shelters, veterinarians, and other rescue groups to identify critical needs and to provide care and resources. There is always more to be done though and with the help of our supporters we will do all we can.” says Blythe Wheaton, Executive Director of The Pet Rescue Center.
About The PRC’s Rescue. Rehab. Re-home Program
The PRC networks throughout all of California, to rescue dogs and cats from situations that without intervention would result in the unnecessary euthanasia of that dog or cat. The PRC personally tours and searches out shelters that euthanize due to over crowding, as these dogs and cats sometimes have merely 4 days to find a family before their time is up. The PRC seeks out these dogs and cats through personal trips to the shelters, email warnings for at risk dogs and cats, and special requests by other rescue groups to work cooperatively to save these adoptable pets. These animals are then cared by The PRC in an effort to rehabilitate their needs until they are healthy, vaccinated, spayed/neutered and ready to find their forever family.
