Go There: Manduka’S Fall Challenge And Giveaway

This season we’d like to take you away. Out of your comfort zone and into a daring new place. Out of your head and into your body. Away to where real growth happens and your truest self comes out.

We want you to Go There.

We can’t tell you exactly where ‘There’ is - only you can do that. But Manduka will help, as we challenge you to try more, trust more and feel more. Go THERE.

And show us what it’s like.

Let’s Go There using Fall as inspiration to try something new and express yourself entirely. Then comes the bravest part: sharing a photo. Go There to Instagram tagging #LetsGoThere and @MandukaYoga, or upload to the special tab at Manduka’s Facebook page.

Every two weeks, one yogi whose photo helps us all Go There will receive a specially created Manduka gift set. To help guide your journey (and your photos), we will focus on a series of themes inspired by Manduka’s Fall color ways:

Starting today: THRIVE
Open your heart on or off the mat.

Starting September 23: VERVE
Reveal your real power and strength.

Starting October 7: EMBRACE
Go where your emotions flow.

Starting October 21: INDULGE
Treat yourself to the ultimate restoration.

So now get up. Get out. Go There for a chance to be your most you (and win a new + improved eKO Mat, Recycled Foam Block and eQua Towel, all in the season’s new color, THRIVE).

And know that we’re always here to support.

Turn On Your #Innergps Giveaway

Summer has arrived. Sunshine is abundant, clothing is minimal and all the seeds we planted in the spring are coming to full bloom. Freedom and intentions are running high this time of year, so let's do something meaningful with them and all these extra hours of daylight. Where does your heart want to take you this summer?

Turn on your inner GPS. We're going on a journey within and beyond – it could be as far as across the country or as close as the backs of our eyelids. Let's use our practice to help us reveal the path and send postcards along the way. Over the next five weeks, we'll be exploring "places" to go this Summer: Inner Peace, Back to Nurture, the Thrill of Adventure, Another State and Coming hOMe.

Show us what those places look like to you. Follow @MandukaYoga on Instagram and check out that week's theme. Then share a photo using hashtag #innerGPS reflecting the place we're going, you could win a special set of Manduka gifts every week.

This week's theme is Inner Peace. Let's go there. Show us your Inner Peace and tag it #innerGPS. Next Wednesday we'll collect all #innerGPS photos and select our favorite that truly embodies that theme. That person will win the Inner Peace gift set including the Limited Edition Manduka PRO Black Bliss, Go Getter mat strap in Heather Grey and Practice Journal.

You can also follow the community's #innerGPS journey in the Facebook Gallery and see all the places we're going together. If you have any questions, please ask! Otherwise we'll see you on the path, taking photos along the way.

Practice On,
Manduka

Now. Is.Wow

Take a deep breath. Allow yourself to notice how it feels. This moment you are experiencing will never be again. Every moment, just like a breath, is distinct and unique. When was the last time you breathed just for the enjoyment of breathing? When was the last time you paused and basked in nature around you and the sky above? The leaves of the trees, the cloud patterns, and the surrounding atmosphere will never be that way again. You are even different now than you were a few seconds ago.

We think as we move from day to day, month to month, year to year, everything remains the same. We measure our life in increments of time and a belief that once we have something or get somewhere else, then we’ll be happy. Then.

What if our happiness was created by how conscious we were in this moment? Wherever you go it is now. Take a deep breath. Taste it. Enjoy it. Embrace the present as the gift it is.

This moment is powerful. This moment is beautiful. This moment is all there is. This moment is yours.

What will you do with your Now?

Top 5 Detoxifying Foods For The Holiday Season

By Manduka Ambassador Rosie Acosta

Here we are at the beginning of the month, with more super fun holidays up ahead, and more temptations readily available for us to eat at home or at the office. It’s difficult to keep it together during the holiday season with so much deliciousness surrounding us, everywhere we go. No doubt we should be able to have a treat when we want, but the truth is, one treat is just NOT enough {or maybe that’s just me}. A great way to keep meals balanced is by adding foods that will assist in removing toxins from the body.

While there are many detox plans out there, it is important to seek the guidance of a qualified health-care professional before starting a detox regimen. In order to not have to go into full “detox” mode, here are some foods you can incorporate into your diet to give your body a chance to recalibrate:

1. Lentils: This fiber-rich legume aids in elimination, helps lower cholesterol, balances blood sugar, and even increases your energy. Adding lentils to salads or having a cup of lentil soup can give you the balance you need.

2. Grapefruit: Sweet, tangy and fiber-rich fruit helps lower cholesterol, prevent kidney stones, and aids the digestive system. Best when enjoyed for breakfast as a fresh squeezed juice or fruit bowl.

3.Cauliflower: Cruciferous veggies are great for detoxifying the body. This anti-oxidant rich vegetable aids your body’s natural detoxification system and reduces inflammation. Enjoy a batch of steamed cauliflower as a side dish or raw in a mixed green salad.

4. Broccoli: Neutralizes and eliminates toxins while also delivering a healthy dose of vitamins. Broccoli is a versatile veggie that can also be added to salads or enjoyed raw.

5. Cucumber: Nutrient dense cucumbers, which are 95% water, help flush out toxins and alkalize the body. This is one of my favorites. You can enjoy cucumbers in salads or toss it into the juicer to give your juice more nutritional value.

One of the best ways to begin to feel better instantly is by cutting sugar {this means cookies, cakes, and pies go bye-bye} from your diet. Also staying active will keep you motivated as the holidays approach. Exercising and keeping your body hydrated will also help move any toxins out. During this special time of year, remember to stay positive, enjoy yourself, your family and your friends.

Happy Holidays!!!
